Monday Oct. 5 is the Last Day to Register to Vote in 2009 Election
Dear Diane,
I wanted to take a moment to remind you that Monday, October 5 is the last day to register to vote in the November 2009 election. In this election, we will be casting a vote for Mayor of Houston, Houston City Council Members, and eleven propositions for constitutional amendments. Click here to see a sample ballot.
As a candidate for Harris County Tax Assessor-Collector and Voter Registrar and as a private citizen, I believe that it is so important to excercise our right to vote, because if we don't, then we let someone else make the decision for us about who our elected officials will be. Please make sure your voice is heard and that your vote counts by making sure you are registered.
You can use this link to check your voter registration status.
To register to vote, you can download an application here.
And finally, should you need any assistance registering to vote, or if you would prefer to do it in person, the League of Women Voters and Houston Votes will be available to assist you at all 9 Multi-Service Centers in the Houston area this Monday.
